REACH Regulation 1970/2006 goes into effect.

1st June 2008 to 1st December 2008:

Pre-registration of substances with the European Chemical Agency (ECHA).
Pre-registration must be completed electronically via the REACH-IT portal, available on the ECHA website.

1st January 2009:

Publication of pre-registered substances by the European Chemical Agency (ECHA).  

1st December 2010:

Registration deadline for the following imported/manufactured chemical substances:

• Chemical substances in quantities of > 1000 tonnes per year.
• Category 1 and category 2 CMR substances in quantities of > 1 tonne per year.
• R50/53 substances in quantities of > 100 tonnes per year.

1st December 2013:

Registration deadline for imported/manufactured chemical substances in quantities of between 100 tonnes and 1000 tonnes per year per manufacturer or per importer.

1st June 2018:

Registration deadline for imported/manufactured chemical substances in quantities of between 1 tonne and 100 tonnes per year per manufacturer or per importer.
